Final chance to enter best radio ad of the year in Siren Awards (21-Feb-14)
Agencies and radio stations have extra time to submit entries for the best radio ad in the 2014 Siren Awards. The Siren Final Call, open now and closing on 28 February, allows agencies and radio stations to submit work previously not entered, or re-enter work that had not been recognised in the previous rounds.
$2 million of commercial radio support begins for First Break winner ILUKA (18-Feb-14)
ILUKA, the inaugural winner of the commercial radio industry’s Australian music initiative ‘First Break’, will from this week see the start of the massive radio support from commercial radio stations across Australia for her first single “12th of July”. The single, released via Liberation Music (part of the Mushroom Group), is a fitting vehicle for the emerging twenty-two year old, whose soaring, yet smoky vocal and unique songwriting finds her positioned well beyond her years.
Interim fee not enough - record companies take radio back to Tribunal (13-Feb-14)
The record companies, represented by the Phonographic Performance Company of Australia (PPCA), today applied in the Copyright Tribunal for a timetable to pursue a final scheme for exact online simulcast of free to air radio broadcasts. Final hearing date has been set for March 2015.
