Other Regional Markets

CRA recently launched a new Regional Research Standard for all regional markets (excluding Newcastle, Gold Coast and Canberra). Previously the prohibitive cost of radio surveys in regional areas, (with the exception of Newcastle, Canberra and the Gold Coast that are surveyed as part of the master Radio Audience Measurement contract), has historically resulted in fewer surveys conducted in these areas.

Under the new CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing) methodology, regional radio stations can commission one of the approved research companies to provide audience surveys in their licence area to offer advertisers a more regular insight into regional listening.

Single person placement is the approved methodology for Other Regional Markets. An exception of household flooding may be used for 10-17s in regions where the population is too small to conduct single person placement methodology.
