Radio ratings for Albany released

Radio ratings for the southern port city of Albany in Western Australia were released today as part of audience research being conducted across regional Australia.

Local stations Hot FM 106.5 and RadioWest Albany are included the survey, which was conducted by Xtra Research.

“Regional radio serves a vital role in the community and having up to date data on their listeners will help radio stations to shape their programming and attract local and national advertisers,” said Joan Warner, CEO of peak industry body Commercial Radio Australia.
The radio stations that serve Albany provide entertainment, news and information on agricultural issues related to grain, beef, wine, dairy, sheep and political matters relevant to the community.
Albany is the first of three regions in Western Australia which will release radio ratings results this year.  Surveys for Kalgoorlie will be released next week and Bunbury is planned for the second half of the year.
The survey results for Albany will be available on the Radio It’s A Love Thing website from 10am AEST.

Commercial Radio Australia announced earlier this year that radio surveys will be held in 20 key regional centres, as part of a move to put regional radio in the spotlight.  It is the first time surveys have been undertaken in many of these areas in more than a decade.
The program follows the introduction of new measures to make regional surveys more cost effective and ensure data will be consistent across markets.
