Hobart radio survey released


Radio ratings will be released for Hobart today to provide up-to-date data on who’s listening to radio in the Tasmanian capital.
 
The survey results are the first to be released for Hobart since 2014, with commercial stations Hit 100.9 (formerly Sea FM), Heart FM and 7HO serving the market.
 
Joan Warner, chief executive officer of industry body Commercial Radio Australia, said Hobart was one of 25 radio surveys to be undertaken across regional Australia this year to reinvigorate regional radio.  

“Surveys are an important measure of how radio stations are performing, and we’re pleased we now have a system in place that enables the industry to conduct more regular surveys and provide hard data to national advertisers,” Ms Warner said.

The Hobart research was carried out by Xtra Insights among 1200 participants. The results will be available from 10am AEDT on the Radio It’s A Love Thing website.

Regional surveys have been released since 2014 for the following areas: Albany, Albury, Bundaberg, Cairns, Central Queensland, Coffs Harbour, Colac, Darwin, Dubbo, Gosford, Griffith, Hamilton, Hobart, Horsham, Kalgoorlie, Kempsey (Port Macquarie), Mackay, Maryborough, Mildura, Mt Gambier, Orange, Sale, Shepparton, Sunshine Coast, Swan Hill, Toowoomba, Townsville, Wagga Wagga, Warrnambool, Warragul and Wollongong.

Surveys results for Bunbury and Bendigo will be among those to be released before the end of the year.
