Radio Training Courses Catalogue - 2018

CRA has recently reviewed and updated information regarding the various tertiary courses available for the radio industry. Whilst the information is not exhaustive, it provides extensive details of most of the courses available to either people seeking to enter the industry or for existing staff seeking to enhance their skills.

Modern Awards 4 yearly reviews (2014 & 2018) 

The Fair Work Commission continues with its review of all the 2010 industrial awards. This includes the 3 main awards covering the commercial radio industry. The review commenced in 2014 and is being conducted over 4 stages. The reviews of awards affecting commercial radio are on-going and it is likely that this process will not be concluded until the middle of 2018.

CRA continues to monitor developments and will be consulting with affected members. 

The Fair Work Commission has also recently announced its intention to delay the commencement of the second 4 yearly review, due for commencement in 2018, on the basis that it would be unfeasible whilst the 2014 review is continuing.  

Minimum Wage Review 2017 

The Fair Work Commission has set a new National Minimum Wage of $694.90 per week, which represents an increase of 3.3%.  The decision also affects all industrial awards minimum wage rates. The decision takes effect from the the first full pay period from 1 July 2017 

It is expected that the Fair Work Commission will hand down its 2018 National Minimum Wage Review decsion in June 2018.
